[August 2022, Wallmapu] News from the Mapuche struggle against the Chilean State
Here’s a collection of different actions claimed by radical Mapuche groups in Wallmapu, against the Chilean state in the month of August 2022. Some of these actions were collected from mainstream media. For each, we will try to provide a link/picture to the actual claim/pamphlet and a translation of it.
August 1, Curacautín: weichave of the Resistencia Mapuche Malleco (RMM) attacked the air club & destroyed 4 small planes.

August 1, Pillanlelbun: weichave of the movement of Liberación Nacional Mapuche (LNM) attacked a fundó and destroyed the employer’s house & one vehicle

August 2, Huape, Cañete: Weichave of Resistencia Mapuche Lavkenche (RML) destroyed 2 houses & 1 vehicle on installations of forestry company Arauco, more specifically of a forest ranger working for them

August 7, Vilcun: in solidarity with the hunger strikes of Mapuche political prisoners Cesar Millanao, Orlando Saez, Oscar Pilquiman & Emilio Berkhof, and of Victor Llanquileo, Weychan Auka Mapu (WAM) set on fire 2 backhoes of a forestry company
August 7, Capitan Pastene: in solidarity with the hunger strikes of Mapuche political prisoners Cesar Millanao, Orlando Saez, Oscar Pilquiman & Emilio Berkhof, and of Victor Llanquileo, Weychan Auka Mapu (WAM) attacked a police holding with weapons
August 7, Puren: in solidarity with the hunger strikes of Mapuche political prisoners Cesar Millanao, Orlando Saez, Oscar Pilquiman & Emilio Berkhof, and of Victor Llanquileo, Weychan Auka Mapu (WAM) torched 1 truck of a transport company
August 9, Paredones: in solidarity with hunger striker Emilio Berkhoff and all Mapuche political prisoners on hunger strike, Weichan Auka Mapu (WAM) torched 2 skidders 1 truck & damaged a processor at a forestry operation. Communique in Spanish on Radio Kurruf.

August 12, Angol: weychafe of the ORT – Toño Marchant of the Coordinadora Arauco Malleco (CAM) sabotaged an aggregates company & a forestry company by torching & destroying a dozen of machines

August 16, Arauco: in solidarity with the hunger strikes of Mapuche political prisoners Cesar Millanao, Orlando Saez, Oscar Pilquiman & Emilio Berkhof, and of Victor Llanquileo, Weychan Auka Mapu (WAM) sabotaged 3 trucks, 5 vans, 5 forestry machines, 1 car owned by a forestry company
August 16, Curanilahue: in solidarity with the hunger strikes of Mapuche political prisoners Cesar Millanao, Orlando Saez, Oscar Pilquiman & Emilio Berkhof, and of Victor Llanquileo, Weychan Auka Mapu (WAM) burned down 2 trucks, 1 backhoe from a logistics company

August 22, Lanalhue: in solidarity with Mapuche political prisoner Víctor Llanquileo on the 9th day of his hunger strike, the Resistencia Mapuche Lavkenche(RML) torched 2 sheds 1 employer’s house 1 vehicle & several farm machines and shot the owner’s son at an agricultural property.

August 24, Mulchén: Mapuche fighters torched 2 logging trucks for the liberation of Héctor Llaitul ; at the same time 2 other (unclaimed) arsons took place in town, torching 1 transport company chipper truck on a road and 2 tractors on a farm
August 25, Concepción: Mapuche political prisoners Yerko Maril Mariñan and Esteban Carrera Zúñiga started hunger strikes for their tranfers from the prisons El Manzano and CDP Bio Bio to the prison of Lebu which is closer to their territories, communities & families. With this strike we also support the peñi Víctor Llanquileo, who is on a hunger strike in the Arauco prison demanding his release to the Center for Studies and Work (CET) in Cañete. […]We also denounce the racist policy of the Gendarmerie [prison authorities] against the Mapuche prisoners, whom in a capricious manner they decide to transfer to more remote prisons, denying us our condition and violating our rights and those of our families.
